I registered my US Company in the state of Virginia, USA for about $100.00 (50,000 CFA)and the same business in Cameroon I registered for about 500,000 CFA (US$1,000.00). I was taxed on anticipated revenue and not on revenue already generated.
At least 98% of Cameroonians in the USA work for the private sector and not for the United States Government. In turn, the amount of money Cameroonians in the USA send to their relatives in Cameroon far supersedes the money that the Bretton Woods Institutions, i.e. the World Bank (IBRD - International Bank for Reconstruction & Development of Europe) and its sister institution the IMF, lend the Cameroon government

The nation state of Cameroon in the last fifteen (15) years has completely abandoned its diplomatic corps. Excepting circumstances where the image of the President of the Republic alone - Paul Biya - that is, is at stake does the nation of Cameroon react; often in a knee-jerk fashion and not in a well properly thought out manner for longevity of nation building.

Two important deaths have taken place in September and October 2006 which have not received much mention amongst Cameroonians due in part to the lack of awareness of our history. The deaths in question are those of the Sultan of Rey-Bouba in Cameroon and the Sultan of Sokoto in Nigeria.

25 years from now, many of Cameroon’s political actors of today would have been dead and buried. If they are alive, Ferdinand Leopold Oyono would be about 102 years old, Paul Biya 98 years old, John Fru Ndi 90 years old, Augustin Frederick Kodock, about 98 years old, Adamu Ndam Njoya about 89 years old, Yondo Mandegue Black 93 years old and Garga Haman Adji 87 years old. Ahmadou Ali of the Extreme-North of Kolofata, a Kirdi, who had stated that his power comes from his extreme northern base and who is largely postulated as being next in line, according to France (and not Cameroonians) would be 84 years old.

The nation state of Cameroon in the armpit of Africa as we know it today has a very rich and diverse cultural heritage. Cameroon is at Africa's crossroads, North, South, East and Central Africa cuts through Cameroon. The Cameroon appelation came from the River Wouri which the Portuguese in the 15th Century named Rio Dos Cameroes(Prawns). After generations of Africans for a period of over 400 years were shipped to the newfoundland of Amerigo Vespuci, or America for slavery, the scramble for Africa begun in the late 19th century.
